Algeria – Italy: Tebboune visiting Rome tomorrow

As economic and political crises persist around the world; President Abdelmadjid Tebboune continues state visits. After Turkey, place in Italy.

Indeed, the Head of State Abdelmadjid Tebboune is preparing to begin a three-day state visit to Italy tomorrow. The announcement was made on Tuesday 24 by a press release from the Presidency of the Republic.

“At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Italy, Mr. Sergio Mattarella, the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune begins a three-day state visit to the Italian Republic from tomorrow,” reads in the press release of El Mouradia.

“This visit is of particular importance in the strengthening of historical ties of friendship and the strengthening of bilateral relations in many areas, particularly in the economic aspect”; added the same source.

According to the presidency, this approach falls within the framework of a new vision of the two Presidents aimed at injecting a new dynamic into the dialogue and strategic cooperation between the two neighboring and friendly countries”.

The Electrical Interconnection Project on the Menu?

Just yesterday, on the eve of President Tebboune’s visit to Italy; an important energy project was discussed by the CEO of the Sonelgaz group and the Italian Minister for Energy Transition. An interview that took place on the sidelines of the work of the General Assembly of Med TSO. (Association of operators of electricity transmission networks in the Mediterranean).

Indeed, it is the project of the reactivation of the electrical interconnection by submarine cable between Algeria and Italy. The cable connection should be between El Tarf and Sardinia for a capacity of 2,000 MW. This project should also be at the heart of President Tebboune’s visit to Rome.
