According to information relayed by the American media, the American Secretary of State and head of diplomacy, Antony Blinken, arrived this Wednesday, March 30, in Algiers, as part of a tour that began on March 26 and during which he visited Israel, the West Bank and Morocco.

During this visit, the American diplomat will meet with the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and his counterpart, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ramtane Lamamra in order to study several issues relating to regional security and stability. It will also be a question of discussing cooperation and common interests between Algeria and the United States of America.

It should be noted that Antony Blinken’s tour comes on the fringes of a very tense regional and international context, evolving at the pace of recent events, in particular with the armed conflict between Ukraine and Russia, but also the conflict in Libya. , Mali and Western Sahara.
