It was this Wednesday, March 30 at 10:30 a.m. that the Secretary of State of the United States of America, in charge of Foreign Affairs, Antony Blinken, arrived in Algiers, as part of an official visit during which the latter will discuss with the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, several issues relating to the current regional and international contexts as well as to bilateral and cooperation between Algiers and Washington.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, met today, Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with his American counterpart, Anthony Blinken. US Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Anthony Blinken will also hold a meeting with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Foreign Minister Ramadan Lamamra to discuss regional security and stability.
The talks focused on the promising opportunities for consolidating the bilateral partnership between the two countries. “As well as reinforcing our commitment to promoting peace and stability regionally and internationally, in line with our common values and interests,” Lamamra added in a tweet.
But also, business cooperation, the promotion of human rights and fundamental freedoms and other areas of common interest will be discussed.
The minister will officially inaugurate the American pavilion as guest of honor at the Algiers International Fair. The largest fair of its kind in Africa.
Finally, Antony Blinken will also meet with representatives of American companies in Algeria to discuss deepening economic relations and promoting trade and investment between the United States and Algeria.
It should be recalled that this official visit by Antony Blinken to Algeria is part of a tour that began on March 26 and during which Antony Blinken visited Israel, the West Bank and Morocco.
