Monkey pox: what measure is Algeria considering?

Monkeypox, also known as Monkeypox, is taking on global proportions and is causing serious fears. This rare infectious disease comes from Africa and is caused by a virus transmitted from wild animals to humans. Symptoms present in sufferers are similar to those of smallpox, which was stopped in 1980.

The Pasteur Institute of Algeria (IPA) had indicated during the week that no suspected or confirmed case of this infection has been detected or recorded in Algeria. However, the National Health Security Agency, through its Scientific Council, has decided to set up a special commission responsible for monitoring the evolution of the monkey pox epidemic.
