Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, Algeria has recorded a total of 265,782 infections, 6,875 deaths and 178,538 recoveries. For several weeks, the number of daily contaminations has dropped remarkably, which suggests the end of the tunnel and the possible end of this pandemic which has hit the world hard.
Like yesterday’s report, the Coronavirus report communicated by the services of the Ministry of Health this Wednesday, May 4, indicated that no new contamination with Covid-19 has been recorded during the past 24 hours.
Minister Abderrahmane Benbouzid’s department also pointed out that the latest figures for the Coronavirus epidemic in Algeria do not include any new recoveries. The situation also remains stable on the side of deaths, because the balance sheet of this Wednesday does not deplore any victim carried away following complications linked to Covid-19. In addition, the Ministry of Health reported one (1) patient in intensive care.
Benbouzid calls for caution
On the sidelines of his visit to the Pediatrics Department of the “Nafisa Hammoud” University Hospital (formerly Parnet), and the Emergency Department of the “Mustapha Pasha” University Hospital in Algiers on the occasion of Eid el-Fitr, the Minister of Health, Abderrahmane Benbouzid, returned to the evolution of the Covid-19 epidemic in Algeria and called for caution.
Indeed, Minister Benbouzid indicated that it cannot be said that the Coronavirus has been definitively eliminated, particularly if we take into consideration the spread of the virus and the return of confinement in certain cities and certain countries in the world. like China.
Thus, despite the stability of the health situation linked to Covid-19 in our country, marked by the decline of the virus and the considerable drop in daily contaminations, the Minister of Health did not fail to recall the importance and the need for caution.
