End of season: different fates for Algerian players

The 2021/2022 exercise is coming to an end in most European leagues. Between championship titles that are taking shape, the challenge of staying in the first division and qualifying places for Europe, the players of the Algerian team will know different fortunes during this end of the season.

In France, the southern club, OGC Nice, will play its last card to win a ticket, either for the Europa League or the Europa Conference League. The teammates of Youcef Atal, Hichem Boudaoui and Andy Delort will try to console themselves after their failure in the final of the Coupe de France against the Nantes canaries.

Coach Christophe Galtier’s men’s prolific three-game Ligue 1 winning streak faded after the 1-3 loss to Lille on the previous day. The Nice club will travel to Reims, with their eyes riveted on the results of the Strasbourg and Rennes matches, to end their season victoriously by winning a victory synonymous with a last European hope.

In Germany, the Berlin club Hertha lost Thursday against the historic club Hamburg SV 1-0 on behalf of the German championship play-offs. The teammates of the Algerian striker trained in Lyon will have to reverse the score next Monday if they hope to stay away from the shadows of the lower divisions.

Bennacer and Mahrez, towards historic coronations

After an 11-year drought, the Rossonero club of Milan is preparing to lift the title of the Italian championship, the Scudetto. The teammates of the Algerian international, Ismaïl Bennacer, are obliged to return with a victory for the province of Modena against the club of Sassuolo.

A last march that would allow the men of the Italian technician, Stefano Piolo, to touch the roof of Italian football, not to mention the result of rival Nerazzurri, Inter Milan. Bennacer could be joined by his Algeria team-mate, Riyad Mahrez.

After his missed penalty against the London team of West Ham, the captain of the Greens will have a second chance to conquer the English championship for the 4ᵉ time in 5 years. Manchester City will face the team of Aston Villa coached by a certain Steven Gerrard, living legend of the rival, Liverpool. The latter will play against Newcastle for a thrilling end to the Premier League season.
