This Sunday, April 16, 2022 marks the 16th day of fasting for Muslims during this blessed month of Ramadan 2022. More than half of the time has already been consumed, in which case all Muslims are waiting to learn about the date of the Aid El Fitr, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Based on astronomical calculations, associations, theological authorities and other astronomers determine the dates of the lunar calendar with accuracy.
In France, the end date of the month of Ramadan and the first day of Aid El Fitr has already been announced by the Muslim Theological Council of France (CTMF), which will be Monday, May 2, 2022. “The first day of the month of Shawwal 1443 (Feast of El-Fitr) will correspond to Monday, May 2, 2022,” specifies the CTMF.
“The conjunction (of the new moon) will take place, inshaAllah, on Saturday April 30, 2022 at 8:28 p.m. GMT (10:28 p.m. Paris time); the conditions necessary for the ocular vision of the new crescent of Shawwal in the world will be met, inshaAllah, the next day, May 1, from 1:23 p.m. GMT (3:23 p.m.: Paris time)”, specifies the Muslim Theological Council of France.
Amount of Zakat El Fitr for this Ramadan 2022, in France
Zakat El Fitr is an alms prescribed by the Prophet of Islam in order to purify and validate the Ramadan fast. It is the duty of every Muslim to fulfill it before the last day of Ramadan, before the prayer of the celebration of Eid Al Fitr.
The purpose of Zakât is to enable the needy to spend the feast of Eid with dignity, by sparing them from reaching out on that day.
Each head of household must pay it for all the people in his charge, including those who do not fast and babies.
The Muslim Theological Council of France (CTMF) has set the Zakat El Fitr at 7 euros for this month of Ramadan 1443/2022.
