Having started to regain his best level, Youcef Belaïli should be entitled to a new contract with Stade Brestois. The left winger of the national team is not against the idea of continuing the adventure in Brittany, but his father Hafid, who is also his agent, does not close the door to a possible departure of the player during the next transfer window summer, in case he receives an interesting offer from another club with higher sporting ambitions.
Youcef Belaïli is talked about in France. Indeed, he is beginning to regain his best level. By chaining a first-rate performance in the last match against AS Monaco, he was able to score a nice goal following an individual feat on the left wing of the attack. This arouses the admiration of Stade Brestois officials to renew the player’s contract which will end next June.
Hafid Belaïli, father of Youcef and his agent at the same time, affirms that he was officially approached by the Brestois to negotiate a new contract with the player. “After the last match against AS Monaco, I was approached by the president of Stade Brestois to offer me the extension of Youcef’s contract. We should soon schedule an interview to sit around a table and thus begin the negotiations concretely”, he reveals, in a declaration granted to our colleagues from Echourouk, and added: “My son is starting to find its marks in the French league. He feels very comfortable in Brest in the company of his little family and is not against the idea of continuing the adventure in Brittany”.
Youcef aims higher
Continuing his declaration, Hafid Belaïli affirms that he and Youcef are open to other proposals during the next transfer period. The possibility of seeing the international striker join another club with higher sporting ambitions next summer cannot be ruled out.
“OGC Nice, LOSC Lille and FC Toulouse are interested in Youcef. The door is open for a club that meets the sporting ambitions of the player, especially if the offer is attractive,” said Hafid Belaïli. Remember that the player also has touches with Greek clubs, including Olympiacos.
“Of course, my son feels comfortable in Brest, but he wants to shine at the top level. It will be in his interest but also in that of the national team”, he adds, before concluding: “I say to the Algerian supporters: do not be afraid for the future of Youcef”.
Once the Ligue 1 Uber Eats season is over, Youcef Belaïli will start an internship with the national team. It is after the first two days of the CAN 2023 qualifiers which will take place next June, respectively against Uganda and Tanzania, that he will have to decide on his future.
