JM Oran-2022: Salim Dada promises a grand opening ceremony

The president of the commission for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 19th edition of the Mediterranean Games Oran-2022, Salim Dada, held a press conference yesterday evening. He promises a complete artistic work during the opening ceremony of the JM.

The city of Oran is preparing to host the Mediterranean Games. This great event is fast approaching. At just 72 hours from D-Day, the chairman of the JM opening and closing ceremonies commission hosted a press conference last night. He evokes the opening ceremony, speaking in particular of the organization. It promises a complete artistic work.

“It will be a grand ceremony that Algeria will experience for the first time since independence. It will be a complete artistic work with all the expressive elements in terms of script, choreography, staging and scenography with the use of cutting-edge techniques. I am not exaggerating if I say that the opening ceremony will be like those of the last two Olympic Games in Rio De Janeiro (2016) and Tokyo (2020)”. He will say straight away.

Musicologist Salim Dada also reveals that “The ceremony will be performed by a symphony orchestra made up of around one hundred musicians. It will include ensemble artistic movements over an area of ​​9,000 square meters. Also, 500 drones will be used for this purpose, in addition to a sound and light show and pyrotechnic games.

As for the artistic presentation of the ceremony in question, it “includes 20 paintings with the participation of 800 people, including artists, dancers, image and lighting technicians”. He added.

Several princes and presidents will mark their presence

The JM opening ceremony will last 120 minutes, or 2 hours on June 25 from 9 p.m. “The screenplay will highlight the many facets of Algerian culture in general, the city of Oran in particular. The impact of Algerian culture in the Mediterranean basin”. He clarified.

The ceremony in question will also be marked by the presence of presidents from different countries. Princes from some Gulf countries will also mark their presence on Saturday in Oran.

Great Algerian artistic figures will ensure the opening of the ceremony. But Salim Dada did not want to reveal their identity.
