JM Oran-2022: Sebgag satisfied with Algerian athletes

Algeria occupies the third place in the classification of medalists during the Mediterranean Games Oran-2022. The Minister of Youth and Sports, Abderrazak Sebgag, says he is satisfied with the course achieved by the Algerian athletes. It’s encouraging for a start.

Algerian athletes are making a good start in the Mediterranean Games taking place in Oran. They have managed to snatch, so far, 12 medals, ie 6 golds, 4 silvers and 2 bronzes.

Admittedly, Algeria has lost the lead in the ranking, falling to 3rd place behind Turkey and Italy. But the fact remains that the Minister for Youth and Sports, Abderrezak Sebgag, is satisfied with the good start of the Algerian athletes. “Our athletes are put to tough tests against their European counterparts. I think what they are doing is very satisfying. During the fourth day of the JM, Algeria is in third place in the standings with 12 medals, ie 6 golds, 4 silvers and 2 bronzes. A number that exceeds three times that achieved during the last edition of the JM which took place in Tarragona (Spain)”. Said the MJS this afternoon to the Algerian media.

It should be recalled that Algeria was at the top of the standings during the first two days of the JM. But since the Algerian athletes in the various competitions did not win any medals yesterday and today, our country fell to 3rd place. Turkey is now in the lead (8 golds, 4 silvers and 7 bronzes), followed by Italy (7 golds, 11 silvers and 11 bronzes).

“Our athletes are capable of winning other medals”

Continuing his statement, Abderrezak Sebgag said he was optimistic for the continuation of the course of the Algerian athletes at the JM. “We are only on the fourth day of the Mediterranean Games. I am convinced that our athletes are capable of winning other medals for the rest of the events in which they are engaged.

The Minister of Youth and Sports also made no secret of expressing his satisfaction with the progress of the JM. “So far, the Mediterranean Games are going very well. I believe that this Mediterranean event reflected a good image on Algeria”.

Also remember that the JM Oran-2022 will continue until July 6th. The Algerian State has not skimped on all the means to make them a success.
