What if Ismael Bennacer joined Liverpool FC this summer? A possibility that cannot be ruled out. The Algeria international is part of Jürgen Klopp’s plans to replace Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who has suffered a serious thigh injury.
It’s no secret. Level by Ismail Bennacer has experienced impressive progress over the past two years. Breathtaking with AC Milan last season, with which he was crowned Italian champion, the Algerian international is coveted by several European leaders.
Although he is under contract with the Rossoneri for two more seasons, the little Algerian elf arouses the admiration of several great coaches from different clubs on the Old Continent. We cite, among others, Liverpool FC. The latter has already shown interest in the player, before the track cools down. But the latest news, the “Reds” could return to the charge for the Algerian midfielder.
Indeed, and according to “Calciomercato Web”, Liverpool coach Jürgen Klopp is studying three avenues to replace Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, victim of a serious hamstring injury which will keep him away from the field for a long time. In addition to Hakan Calhanoglu and Adrien Rabiot, Ismaël Bennacer is one of them. The same media indicates that the Algerian could be another option for the German technician who insists on the recruitment of a defensive midfielder.
For the moment, there is nothing concrete. But one thing is certain, Liverpool officials will have to go through their Milan counterparts to negotiate the player’s transfer.
Bennacer lets suspense hang over his future
As of press time, Ismael Bennacer is yet to extend his contract with AC Milan. Club officials want to shield him, but the two sides have failed to reach an agreement in regarding the financial aspect.
The Algerian international midfielder is demanding a salary increase to sign a new contract. In other words, and during negotiations with the officials of his club, he demanded that his annual salary be revised upwards, from 1.5 million Euros to 3.5 million Euros. It is therefore because of this detail that the player is slow to re-enlist.
But Milan officials are not desperate to convince the talented midfielder to extend his lease. They know very well that he is a player of the future and are doing their best to protect him until 2026.
