Upon his arrival in Ankara, the Head of State was received by the Vice-President of Turkey, Fuat Oktay. The evening of his arrival, Tebboune met representatives of the Algerian community established in Turkey.
The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, announced on Sunday in the Turkish capital, Ankara, the holding of an “inclusive meeting of political parties in the coming weeks”. The President of the Republic referred to the individual meetings he had recently with party leaders, noting that these meetings made it possible to discuss and evaluate several issues.
On the sidelines of his state visit, at the invitation of his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President Tebboune stressed, during his meeting with representatives of the national community in Turkey, that the “reunification” initiative launched is necessary to “form a coherent internal front. »
The President stressed that his visit to Turkey was necessary, especially since bilateral relations have experienced remarkable development over the past two years, adding that Algeria is “ready to develop relations with the Republic of Turkey at the highest level In this regard, the President of the Republic stressed the importance of relations between the two countries, emphasizing that “these are very strong relations at all levels, particularly economic, political and historical. »
The President of the Republic pointed out that Turkish investments in Algeria occupy the first place among the countries in which Turkey invests, reaching more than 4 billion dollars, while the volume of trade between the two countries oscillates between 4 and 5 billions of dollars a year. The President of the Republic evoked the desire of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and all Turkish officials to work with Algeria to promote investments and gain access to the African market.
Tebboune evokes the economic situation of Algeria
Regarding Algeria’s economic situation, President Tebboune reassured members of the community residing in Turkey on “the improvement of the country’s financial situation”, which has made it possible to move away from external borrowing from the IMF.
He continued: “Thanks to the awareness of Algerian citizens, the country is moving away day after day while it was programmed by some who sowed despair and expected Algeria to resort to debt in 2020”.
In this context, the President of the Republic revealed an improvement in the level of foreign exchange reserves, which exceeded 42 billion dollars during this year, and a trade surplus of 1.5 billion dollars was recorded during the year 2021.
In this regard, the President of the Republic underlined that the policy of promoting the national economy will continue on a solid basis with a view to increasing national production and exports and reducing imports, recalling that Algeria has been able to raise the value of exports, excluding hydrocarbons, to more than $5 billion in 2021 for the first time in a quarter of a century.
Algeria seeks, adds President Tebboune, to increase the value of non-hydrocarbon exports to 7 billion dollars this year, calling on the national community to contribute to the development of the national economy and to invest in the creation of wealth.

In addition, the President of the Republic listened to the concerns and suggestions of the various representatives of the community residing in Turkey, he also answered their questions concerning the situation in Algeria and the reality of bilateral relations between Algeria and Turkey.
During his meeting with the members of the national community, which took place in a friendly atmosphere, President Tebboune listened to all present, and also answered their questions concerning issues related to air transport, ticket prices and the conditions for obtaining administrative documents from the services of the Algerian consulates.
The President of the Republic specified that the State is making great efforts and mobilizing all financial means to come to the aid of the national community abroad, in particular during the difficult sanitary conditions linked to the Covid-19 epidemic, while all Algerians stranded abroad have been evacuated.
In the field of transport, the President of the Republic recalled his order to acquire 15 new planes to strengthen the Air Algérie fleet, which would improve the transport of the expatriate community.
The President of the Republic affirmed his support for young people and the continuation of investments in training and education, noting that Algeria is one of the few countries in the region which offer the conditions and capacities necessary to study at a higher level. of 14 million university students and young people.
The meeting saw the presence of the ministerial delegation accompanying the President of the Republic during his state visit to Turkey, the Algerian ambassador to Turkey and several officials.
