The 5 decisions to remember from the Council of Ministers of this March 27

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune chaired, this Sunday, March 27, 2022, a meeting of the Council of Ministers. Today’s meeting was devoted to the examination of several files, including that of the ban on the export of certain products.

During the meeting, the Head of State Abdelmadjid Tebboune gave several instructions; relating to the economic sector as well as the issue of drinking water supply.

Tebboune insists on “water security”

Referring to the issue of the water crisis, which Algeria has been facing for several months; President Tebboune insisted on the acceleration of the entry into operation of seawater desalination plants, which, according to him, is an important step in water security.

In the same vein, the Head of State also insisted on the need for optimal management of dam waters so as to ensure a balanced distribution between the wilayas.

In addition, he ordered the cessation of all well drilling operations intended to supply the supply networks with groundwater, with the aim of preserving the strategic reserves and protecting the flora against ecological risks.

The export ban on imported products on the Menu

After having ordered on March 13 to prohibit the export of several food products, the Head of State returned today with new instructions relating to the file.

Indeed, President Tebboune insisted on the application of the export ban on imported food products.

For this, he ordered the members of the government to attach the greatest importance to the fight against smuggling (illegal export of certain products) in order to preserve our economic capacities in the face of the instability of the world market.

On the other hand, Mr. Tebboune asked the government to be vigilant in the rigorous implementation of the measures banning the export of basic foodstuffs.
