Unemployed, retired, milk crisis… New instructions from Tebboune

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune chaired, this Sunday, April 10, 2022, a meeting of the Council of Ministers. Today’s meeting was devoted to the examination of several files, including that of the rise in the prices of certain necessities.

During the meeting, the Head of State Abdelmadjid Tebboune gave several instructions; relating to the improvement of purchasing power, but also to deal with the milk and wheat crises.

Increase in pensions for retirees

Faced with the deterioration of purchasing power, due to the rise in food prices; President Tebboune has moved towards increasing pensions for retirees.

Indeed, the Head of State ordered a revaluation of retirement pensions for the years 2021 and 2022, with the following scale: 10% increase in pensions less than or equivalent to 15,000 DA; 5% increase in pensions between 15,000 DA to 20,000 DA; 3% increase in pensions between 20,000 DA to 43,000 DA; Increase of 2% for pensions over 43,000 DA.

Tebboune wants “Chifa” cards for the unemployed

Referring to the issue of the unemployed, President Tebboune insisted on accelerating the process of granting the “Chifa” card to recipients of unemployment benefit.

In the same vein, the Head of State ordered the preparation of a definitive file listing the beneficiaries of pre-employment contracts in anticipation of their definitive integration into their posts.

Purchasing power on the menu

The issue of “preservation of purchasing power” still on the menu of meetings of the authorities. To cope with the soaring prices of certain food products in the world, the president gave instructions to increase the purchase prices of legumes, namely 3,000 Da for beans and lentils and 2,000 Da for chickpeas .

Not only that, Mr. Tebboune also insisted on increasing the yield rate per 1 hectare of wheat to no less than 40 quintals through the intensification of scientific and agronomic research. To achieve this goal, he instructed the government to make use of the latest agricultural irrigation technology.

In the same case, President Tebboune ordered an increase in the profit margin of one Da/liter of subsidized milk for factories and two Da for distributors.

In addition, the Council of Ministers approved an agreement relating to the teaching of the Arabic language in primary schools in France.
