Water crisis: a major project at the heart of the government meeting

During his last trip to the wilaya of Oran; President Abdelmadjid Tebboune had insisted on resolving the water crisis, which Algeria has been facing for months. A file that has just been at the heart of the government meeting.

This Thursday, July 7, the government meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Aïmene Benabderrahmane, was marked by the examination of a major project as part of the emergency plan aimed at ending the water crisis.

Indeed, it is a project for the construction of a seawater desalination station in the commune of Fouka in the wilaya Tipasa. At today’s meeting, it was the executive decree, declaring the public utility of this project, which was presented by the Minister of Water Resources.

“With a capacity of 300,000 m3/d, this project is part of the implementation of the emergency plan decided by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, consisting in the construction of five large stations of seawater desalination at the level of the various Wilayas of the country”, we read in the press release sanctioning the meeting.

The text of the law relating to investment on the menu

In addition to the water crisis file, the members of the government took stock of the progress of the preparation of the regulatory texts provided for by the text of the law relating to investment.

According to the communiqué of the meeting, the Government discussed the modalities of operation of the High National Appeals Commission related to investment and the modalities of registration of investments, their sale and transfer.

“It was also a question of addressing the composition, organization and operating methods of the National Investment Council (CNI) in order to redefine its missions in accordance with the new legislative provisions provided for”, specified the same source. .
