The possible arrival of a Spanish striker at West Ham during the next summer transfer window could push Said Benrahma towards the exit door. Author of a season far from expectations, the Algerian international striker is announced leaving the “Hammers” at the end of the current exercise.
Said Benrahma has not shone with West Ham this season. Having had enough luck to play, his performances are far from convincing and are still struggling to find their feet in the Premier League. His trainer David Moyes is not satisfied with the performance of the Algerian international and has ended up knocking him out of his plans during his team’s last matches.
It must be said that the native of Bethioua is having a hard time with his situation with his club. He is announced leaving once the current season is over since he himself would think of changing air during the next transfer window, by opting for another club to bounce back and thus relaunch his career. Leaving nothing to chance, the management of West Ham would prepare the departure of the Algerian since a Spanish striker is expected to replace him in anticipation of next season.
Head Morente to replace Benrahma?
According to some English media, the management of West Ham covets the striker of Elche (13th in the Spanish Liga standings) Tete Morente. The latter is expected to compensate for the possible departure of Said Benrahma during the next summer transfer window.
According to the same source, it was coach David Moyes who recommended the 25-year-old Spanish player in question. Admittedly, he didn’t score too many goals, but he delivered several assists. Very good technically, he would respond perfectly to the profile to bring more to the offensive compartment of the “Hammers” for the next exercise.
If the management of West Ham are interested in Morente, it is also because he would not be expensive insofar as his release is estimated at only €7 million. “Morente is not at Benrahma’s level, of course, but he is able to evolve under the thumb of David Moyes”, reports an English media. The latter also reveals that West Ham and Elche have even started negotiations regarding the transfer of the striker in question.
In the event that the arrival of Tete Morente materializes, it could push Said Benrahma towards the exit door. Obviously, the Algerian international striker is more than ever close to a departure and his days at West Ham would already be numbered. We will know more in the weeks to come…
